Backyard Records Welcomes You to the Backyard

We’re proud to announce the debut of Backyard Records, the label that brings music from our backyard to yours. As lifelong music lovers we know the bands you remember, that you connect to emotionally, are the ones that you feel. Nothing can replace that sense of connection that comes from a tune that seeps into your bones and shakes your soul.

We know, we see music all the time. Backyard Records formed in Chicago in 2024 by Francisco Toledo and Piero Soria, two club-rats who spent their weekends, weekdays and whatever time remained checking out venues and seeing bands. They met and discovered they had a shared passion for music they could not contain. Francisco plays guitar and releases music. Piero collects vinyl and show stubs.

Piero dipped his toe in the waters of musical entrepreneurship by helping produce the Aluminum Groups Eponymous album The Aluminum Group (2022). He and Francisco decided to form a label. They reached out to Michael Iwanusa (Caveman) who had recently released music for a new project RIP Dunes. They offered to make his album their debut release on vinyl.

Backyard records was born.

The goal of Backyard Records is to provide access and visibility to artists we love. We want to be that connection between great musicians and the audiences they connect with. We’re not looking to get rich; we’re looking to have some fun and support the music we love. This is our Backyard. We’d like to share it with you.
